About
Being a therapist has always been less of a job and more of a calling. I founded Shifting Tides because I wanted therapy to feel like what it actually is — human, honest, and a little messy in the best way. I'm a self-described no-BS therapist, certified in EMDR and trained in Internal Family Systems, and I work mostly with trauma, grief, anxiety, and the kind of pain that lives in the body long after the story has been told. After years of training other clinicians in EMDR and IFS, what I've come to believe most is this: healing happens when we feel safe enough to stop performing and start feeling.
When I'm not in session, you'll usually find me near the water. The beach is where my nervous system goes to exhale — long walks, shell collecting, the kind of quiet that doesn't ask anything of you. I paint, mostly for myself, and I've been slowly making my way back to the piano (some days more gracefully than others). And then there's Rex, my dog and the unofficial mascot of Shifting Tides, who has strong opinions about morning routines and absolutely no boundaries when it comes to belly rubs.
